MEET ISIL
I have been involved in art since a young age and I studied one of the Art University in Turkey, graduating in 1997 with the bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Art and Design.
I am an experienced ceramicist with over 20 years of studio experience. In 2016 I opened my garden studio in the New Forest and been designing and making handmade ceramics from there.
My functional work includes inspiration from nature and my forest surroundings, creating a transformation from raw clay material into objects of beauty through shape, textures, colour, and design -resulting in a tactile experience.
I create my contemporary work by imagining the balance of simplicity, between colour, shape and texture. My enjoyment of making is a meditative process where the clay form gradually evolves, together with the texture and colour. Each piece therefore is unique and individual.
